2018 Brevet Schedule
Registration is closed
Payment In Full In Advance Only
Preregistration has closed, but you can still ride! Please come to the start before 9:45 to get registered.

At the start, you will receive a control card that must be validated at specified points, much like a passport. These check points, or controls, are defined on the cue sheet and GPS file. The organizer may also set one or more secret controls along the route.

Randonneuring is self-supported and noncompetitive. While no outside support is allowed, feel free to help one another along the way.

Traditionally, brevets are training and qualifying for entry in Paris-Brest-Paris, but they also test the reliability and effectiveness of your equipment and preparation for long-distance riding.

In the mode of the Brevets de Femmes, this is a ride for people who identify as women. Those new to randonneuring or curious about the sport are very welcome, alongside the most seasoned randonneuses. We will loop from the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle toward Seward Park along Lake Washington, venture southeast to May Valley, and head back via Mercer Island, for a total ride length of 100 kilometers, or about 60 miles. Folks can ride in groups or alone, as long as they follow the set route. While not a race, in order to finish for official credit, the ride must be completed in just under 7 hours at maximum.

The ride will start at Rapha Clubhouse in Seattle. We will gather at 9:15 for coffee and pastries, go over the route and rules at 9:45, and begin riding promptly at 10am. The ride ends a handful of blocks from where it started, near the Capitol Hill light rail station, at Good Weather Bicycles and Cafe. Riders can linger and enjoy the food, drink, atmosphere, and company as they finish, or turn in brevet cards and take off at will. A few other members may be on hand to chat. If you're interested in getting into longer rides starting in the spring, we can also help you sign up for annual membership for our local Seattle chapter (SIR), and with the national organization for randonneuring in the United States, (called RUSA).

New to randonneuring? Learn more. | What to expect on longer randonneuring rides. You can also learn more at an information and storytelling session at Rapha on Thursday the 25th at 6:30pm.

What to bring: a snack, helmet, water bottles, a pen, fenders plus buddy flaps if it's raining, basic tools for fixing a flat, a friend or two!
